Juno Beach Pier hours and fees

The short answer

Loggerhead Marinelife Center, which manages the Juno Beach Pier in Juno Beach, Florida, lists sunrise to sunset from March 1 to October 31 and later hours from November 1. A notice dated Feb. 19, 2026 says hours are sunrise to sunset, and LMC has not said when the late hours return. Walking costs $2, fishing $5, youth anglers $3. Veterans walk free and fish for $3.

The Juno Beach Pier is the 990-foot Palm Beach County pier at Juno Beach Park, on U.S. Highway 1 in Juno Beach. Palm Beach County says the pier “is managed by Loggerhead Marinelife Center”, so Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) sets the hours and the fees and posts the changes. This page sets out what LMC publishes, where its own page disagrees with itself, and how to check a date before you drive. We checked every line on Monday, Oct. 19, 2026.

  • Loggerhead Marinelife Center lists pier hours as March 1 to October 31: open sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week; November 1 to February 28: Sunday to Thursday 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 6 a.m. to midnight. Loggerhead Marinelife Center: Juno Beach Pier, Hours
  • Above its seasonal hours, Loggerhead Marinelife Center posts: "Due to early sea turtle nesting activity, effective February 19, 2026 Pier hours are sunrise – sunset." The page does not say when the winter late-night hours return. Loggerhead Marinelife Center: Juno Beach Pier, Hours

Why the hours conflict

LMC’s pier page shows two schedules at once. The standing table says the late winter hours run November 1 to February 28. The notice above it says: “Due to early sea turtle nesting activity, effective February 19, 2026 Pier hours are sunrise – sunset.” Nesting did start early in 2026: LMC documented the earliest nest it has ever recorded on Feb. 11, 2026, eight days before that notice took effect.

What the page does not say is when the late hours come back. Nesting season ends on October 31, according to both LMC and FWC, so by the standing table the 6 a.m. openings and the 10 p.m. or midnight closings would start again on November 1, 2026. But the February notice is still posted, and the pier is in the middle of a phased refurbishment. LMC has not said whether the winter schedule applies this year. We treat the late hours as unconfirmed for winter 2026 to 2027.

  • Loggerhead Marinelife Center's pier page shows both a standing November 1 to February 28 schedule (6 a.m. to 10 p.m., to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays) and a notice that pier hours have been sunrise to sunset since February 19, 2026. Whether the late-night winter hours apply from November 1, 2026, during the refurbishment, is not stated. Tell readers to check with the pier. Loggerhead Marinelife Center: Juno Beach Pier, Hours
  • Loggerhead Marinelife Center says that on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 it documented "the earliest sea turtle nest ever recorded by the Center". It notes the earliest nest on record in Florida was on February 4, 2025. Loggerhead Marinelife Center news release, Feb. 11, 2026

Our advice for November 2026

A daylight visit fits both versions of the hours. If you want to be on the pier before sunrise or after sunset, call the pier on 561-855-6185 the day before, and read the hours box on LMC’s Juno Beach Pier page. When LMC posts a change, this page records it with its date.

The park around the pier has its own hours

The pier sits inside Juno Beach Park, which Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation runs. The county lists the park as open “Sunrise – Sunset”. The Town of Juno Beach’s page for the same park says “8 am. Sundown”. We go by the county’s hours because the county runs the park, and we note that the town page differs. More on the park is on our Juno Beach Park page.

Can I go on this date?

Type a date into the checker below. It returns the pier hours LMC posts for that time of year, with the sourced notes that apply, such as the Feb. 19, 2026 notice and the refurbishment. It cannot see a closure LMC has not posted, so call before a long drive.

The published schedules this checker uses

Worked out from schedules checked October 19, 2026: Loggerhead Marinelife Center's pier, center, Turtle Walk and TurtleFest pages, Palm Beach County's lifeguard page and NOAA's hurricane season dates. Where an operator's own pages disagree, the checker says so.

Pier fees

Daily passPrice LMC lists
Spectator (walk the pier)$2.00
Spectator, veteransFree
Fishing$5.00
Youth fishing, 12 and under$3.00
Fishing, veterans$3.00

Older listings and social posts quote other prices. The table above is LMC’s rates table as we read it on Oct. 19, 2026. If the price at the counter differs, the counter is the current one, and we would like to hear about it through our contact page.

The fishing pass covers your licence

LMC says the pier holds a fishing licence for anglers, so you do not need your own to fish from it, and FWC’s licence rules exempt people fishing from a pier with a valid saltwater pier licence. The one thing the pier licence does not cover is FWC’s free shore-based shark fishing permit, which anglers 16 and older need to target sharks from a pier. The details are on our fishing page.

Parking

Parking is a separate question. Palm Beach County lists parking fees at two other county parks, not at Juno Beach Park. July 2026 news reported a planned charge for out-of-county visitors; we found no confirmation that it is being collected. Check the signs at the lot, and see our parking page.

The Pier House

LMC describes “The full-service Pier House” with a guest services team, a snack bar, a gift store and fishing tackle, “including rental poles and bait.” We have not found rental or bait prices published, so this guide does not list them. Ask at the counter.

LMC’s Sept. 29, 2026 update put October’s construction “in the area between the pier house and the first shade structure.” LMC has not posted how visitors get past that zone while crews work. Read our dated refurbishment log before you go.

Phone numbers and live cams

  • Pier and fishing information: 561-855-6185 (the line Palm Beach County lists for the pier).
  • Daily beach conditions, North County: 561-624-0065.
  • Ocean Rescue Headquarters (county lifeguards): 561-694-7480.
  • Loggerhead Marinelife Center: 561-627-8280.

LMC runs a Pier Live Cam and a Pier Underwater Cam, both linked from its Juno Beach Pier page. A look at the live cam is a quick way to see the weather at the pier before you leave home.

If you plan to swim after your walk, swim near a lifeguard, read the flags on the tower, and call the conditions line before you go. Palm Beach County says swimming areas are guarded when a condition flag is flying, at its guarded parks with some exceptions, from 9:00 am to 5:20 pm, and that guard availability may change without notice.

Juno Beach Pier holds a fishing license for anglers, so no additional fishing license is required to fish from the pier. Parking: Palm Beach County lists parking fees only at R. G. Kreusler Memorial Park and South Inlet Park, not Juno Beach Park (checked Oct. 19, 2026). July 2026 news said nonresident charges were planned at some beachfront parks; check the signs on the day.

Fees as Loggerhead Marinelife Center lists them, checked 2026-10-19. It publishes no separate rate for children who walk out without fishing, so the calculator charges the spectator fee. Anglers 16 and older fishing for sharks also need FWC's free shore-based shark permit. Loggerhead Marinelife Center: Juno Beach Pier

Is the Juno Beach Pier open?

Partly, while a phased refurbishment goes on. Loggerhead Marinelife Center, which manages the pier, says construction began on June 1, 2026 and is phased "to avoid a full closure whenever possible", with sections closed while crews work on them. Its Sept 29, 2026 update said work would resume on Oct. 5 between the pier house and the first shade structure. Check the LMC pier page or call 561-855-6185 before you go.

Do I need a Florida fishing licence to fish from the pier?

Not for general fishing. LMC says the pier "holds a fishing license for anglers, so no additional fishing license is required", and FWC exempts people "saltwater fishing from a pier with a valid saltwater pier license." The exception is sharks: FWC requires a shore-based shark fishing permit for anglers 16 and older targeting sharks from piers, with "No permit exemptions."

When will the pier refurbishment finish?

No end date has been published. Loggerhead Marinelife Center says "The current estimate is about six months" from the June 1, 2026 start, and that it will keep posting updates. A March 2026 news report gave a 120-day timeline, but the work actually began on June 1, so use the operator's six-month estimate and check its page for news.

Why is the Juno Beach Pier being refurbished?

Loggerhead Marinelife Center says "Routine inspections identified the need for upgrades", and doing the work now keeps the pier safe and open for years to come. CBS12 reported in March 2026 that the county approved up to $1,278,332.50 for new decking and railing across the pier's 990 feet.

Can I still fish from the pier during the construction?

LMC says the work is phased so the pier does not close fully, and it still lists daily fishing fees, rental poles and bait. It does not publish which sections anglers can use on a given day; it shares weekly updates on the sections under construction. Call the pier on 561-855-6185 before a fishing trip.
