If you fish the Juno Beach Pier after dark in winter, Nov. 1 is the date you wait for. In 2026 it falls 13 days after our Oct. 19 check, and the pier’s operator has not said whether anything changes that night. Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC), which manages the pier for Palm Beach County, shows two hours statements on the same page, and for this winter they do not agree.
What LMC’s pier page shows
Two statements, one page (checked Oct. 19, 2026)
The seasonal table: March 1 to Oct. 31, open sunrise to sunset, seven days a week. Nov. 1 to Feb. 28, Sunday to Thursday 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 6 a.m. to midnight.
The notice above it: “Due to early sea turtle nesting activity, effective February 19, 2026 Pier hours are sunrise – sunset.” No end date is given.
- Loggerhead Marinelife Center lists pier hours as March 1 to October 31: open sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week; November 1 to February 28: Sunday to Thursday 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 6 a.m. to midnight. Loggerhead Marinelife Center: Juno Beach Pier, Hours
- Above its seasonal hours, Loggerhead Marinelife Center posts: "Due to early sea turtle nesting activity, effective February 19, 2026 Pier hours are sunrise – sunset." The page does not say when the winter late-night hours return. Loggerhead Marinelife Center: Juno Beach Pier, Hours
Why the two may clash this year
In a normal year the two would not collide. The table switches to sunrise to sunset on March 1, when nesting season starts, and back to later hours on Nov. 1, the day after it ends. LMC gives nesting season as March 1 to Oct. 31, and FWC’s lighting guidance uses the same Oct. 31 end.
2026 was not a normal year. On Feb. 11, 2026 LMC documented a nest that it calls the earliest sea turtle nest ever recorded by the Center. Eight days later, on Feb. 19, the pier moved to sunrise to sunset hours, ten days ahead of the table. The notice gives early nesting as its reason. It gives no end.
So there are two fair readings. In one, the notice was about the early start of nesting; the season ends on Oct. 31 and the table takes over again on Nov. 1. In the other, the notice still stands, as its open wording suggests, and the pier keeps sunrise to sunset hours until LMC posts otherwise. LMC’s page does not settle it.
The refurbishment adds a third question. LMC’s Sept. 29 update put work between the pier house and the first shade structure from Oct. 5, and nothing on the page says whether evening hours are planned while that work goes on. Our refurbishment log tracks every update.
- Loggerhead Marinelife Center's pier page shows both a standing November 1 to February 28 schedule (6 a.m. to 10 p.m., to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays) and a notice that pier hours have been sunrise to sunset since February 19, 2026. Whether the late-night winter hours apply from November 1, 2026, during the refurbishment, is not stated. Tell readers to check with the pier. Loggerhead Marinelife Center: Juno Beach Pier, Hours
- Loggerhead Marinelife Center says nesting season "runs annually from March 1 to October 31." FWC's lighting guidance likewise says decorative lights should stay off until "after sea turtle nesting season ends, October 31." Loggerhead Marinelife Center: Research; FWC: Sea Turtles and Lights
- Loggerhead Marinelife Center says that on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 it documented "the earliest sea turtle nest ever recorded by the Center". It notes the earliest nest on record in Florida was on February 4, 2025. Loggerhead Marinelife Center news release, Feb. 11, 2026
- Loggerhead Marinelife Center's latest posted update reads: "Update on construction as of Sept 29, 2026: After construction of more panels offsite, construction is scheduled to resume on the pier on Monday, October 5, 2026. Construction work will be in the area between the pier house and the first shade structure." No later update was posted on the page when checked. What it means for evening anglers
If the table applies from Nov. 1, you could fish until 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. If the notice still applies, the pier closes at sunset, which in November comes early in the evening. Plan around the earlier time until you hear otherwise. A trip planned for sunset loses nothing if the late hours do come back. A trip planned for 9 p.m. can end before it starts.
The price does not change with the clock as far as LMC’s rate list shows. LMC lists a Daily Fishing Fee of $5.00, $3.00 for youth 12 and under and $3.00 for veterans, with no separate evening rate.
Parking after dark is a separate question
Palm Beach County runs Juno Beach Park, the lot you use for the pier, and gives its hours as “Sunrise – Sunset”. The Town of Juno Beach’s page for the same park says “8 am. Sundown”. The pier’s winter table runs past both. Neither the County nor LMC says how evening pier visitors are meant to park, so ask when you call. Our parking page lists the lots nearby.
No lifeguards in the evening
Palm Beach County Ocean Rescue guards Juno Beach Park from 9 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. when a condition flag is flying, and says guard availability may change without notice. After that the beach beside the pier is unguarded. That matters less to anglers than to swimmers, but it is worth knowing if you bring family.
The work zone
LMC still lists fishing fees and Pier House bait and rentals during the refurbishment, but it does not say which stretch is open to anglers on a given day. The October work sits at the pier house end.
- Palm Beach County lists Juno Beach Park's entrance at 14775 U.S. Highway 1, Juno Beach, Florida 33408, with hours "Sunrise – Sunset", class Beach, 6.28 acres. Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation: Juno Beach Park
- Palm Beach County gives Juno Beach Park's hours as "Sunrise – Sunset". The Town of Juno Beach's page for the same park says "8 am. Sundown". The county runs the park, so use the county hours and note the town page differs. Town of Juno Beach: Juno Beach Park; Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation: Juno Beach Park
- Loggerhead Marinelife Center lists a Daily Fishing Fee of $5.00, Daily Youth Fishing (12 & under) of $3.00, and $3.00 for veterans. Loggerhead Marinelife Center: Juno Beach Pier, Rates
- Palm Beach County says Ocean Rescue lifeguards protect swimmers at fourteen oceanfront and inlet parks, and swimming areas are guarded when a condition flag is flying from the tower "at most parks year-round, seven days a week, from 9:00 am – 5:20 pm", with exceptions at DuBois Park and Peanut Island. "Guard availability may change without notice—look for the condition flag before swimming." Juno Beach Park and Loggerhead Park are on the guarded list. Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation: Beaches
- Loggerhead Marinelife Center's pier page still lists daily fishing fees and the Pier House tackle, rental poles and bait, and says the project is phased to avoid a full closure. It does not say in plain words which stretch is open to anglers on a given day; the Sept 29 update puts the October work between the pier house and the first shade structure. How to confirm before you drive
- Call pier and fishing information on 561-855-6185, the number Palm Beach County lists for the pier, and ask two things: the closing time that night, and which section is open.
- Open LMC’s pier page and look above the hours. If the Feb. 19 notice is gone or replaced, read what replaced it and its date.
- Look at LMC’s Pier Live Cam, linked from the same page, before you leave.
- Ask at the Pier House on a daytime visit; it is staffed by LMC’s guest services team.
- Palm Beach County lists pier/fishing information at 561-855-6185, daily beach conditions at 561-624-0065 and Ocean Rescue Headquarters at 561-694-7480. Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation: Juno Beach Pier
- Loggerhead Marinelife Center runs a Pier Live Cam and a Pier Underwater Cam, linked from its Juno Beach Pier page. Loggerhead Marinelife Center: Juno Beach Pier

Pier hours questions
Is the Juno Beach Pier open?
Partly, while a phased refurbishment goes on. Loggerhead Marinelife Center, which manages the pier, says construction began on June 1, 2026 and is phased "to avoid a full closure whenever possible", with sections closed while crews work on them. Its Sept 29, 2026 update said work would resume on Oct. 5 between the pier house and the first shade structure. Check the LMC pier page or call 561-855-6185 before you go.

Do I need a Florida fishing licence to fish from the pier?
Not for general fishing. LMC says the pier "holds a fishing license for anglers, so no additional fishing license is required", and FWC exempts people "saltwater fishing from a pier with a valid saltwater pier license." The exception is sharks: FWC requires a shore-based shark fishing permit for anglers 16 and older targeting sharks from piers, with "No permit exemptions."

When will the pier refurbishment finish?
No end date has been published. Loggerhead Marinelife Center says "The current estimate is about six months" from the June 1, 2026 start, and that it will keep posting updates. A March 2026 news report gave a 120-day timeline, but the work actually began on June 1, so use the operator's six-month estimate and check its page for news.

Why is the Juno Beach Pier being refurbished?
Loggerhead Marinelife Center says "Routine inspections identified the need for upgrades", and doing the work now keeps the pier safe and open for years to come. CBS12 reported in March 2026 that the county approved up to $1,278,332.50 for new decking and railing across the pier's 990 feet.

Can I still fish from the pier during the construction?
LMC says the work is phased so the pier does not close fully, and it still lists daily fishing fees, rental poles and bait. It does not publish which sections anglers can use on a given day; it shares weekly updates on the sections under construction. Call the pier on 561-855-6185 before a fishing trip.
How long is the Juno Beach Pier?
Palm Beach County and Loggerhead Marinelife Center both say the pier offers 990 feet of saltwater fishing. The county lists it as a 990-foot pier at Juno Beach Park, 14775 U.S. Highway 1.
